Faugheen

The going at Punchestown is good to yielding (on the hurdle and chase courses) and good (on the cross country circuit). The forecast is for a mainly dry today with heavy rain arriving overnight and through tomorrow.
The first of eight races on today's card is off at 3.40pm. The unbeaten Faugheen is a very warm order in the Grade One in the Queally Group Punchestown Champion Hurdle at 5.30pm. Arctic Fire who was runner-up to him in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham, reopposes again.
Flat racing returns to Sligo on Sunday. The track reports the ground to be soft. The weather is expected to be dry today but there will be rain overnight into tomorrow clearing to showers on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
