Ado McGuinness reports Go Athletico on track to defend the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes in the Curragh at the end of the month after an unplaced run during Irish Champions Festival.
The seven-year-old gelding, who appreciates cut in the ground, didn't land a blow in the Group 1 Flying Five at the Curragh on Sunday, but McGuinness believes there is more to come from his charge.
The trainer said: "The ground was a little bit quick, but we were drawn on the wrong side. The draw was very biased there yesterday (Sunday) in the sprints.
"I was happy with the way he ran, he wasn't beaten a huge amount and he hadn't run in four months. I think he will come on a lot and he'll go for the Renaissance.
