Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy doubled their score on the day when Getaway John (9/4) took the Follow Fairyhouse On Twitter, Facebook & Instagram Maiden Hurdle.
This was also a second success on the afternoon for Grange Stud stallion, Getaway, after the victory of Gotaway in the handicap chase.
Smart bumper horse Getaway John was trying to lug in behind Narcissistic over the closing couple of hurdles but he flew the last and got the best of the argument by half a length.
Getaway John and Narcissistic left favourite Myth Buster eight lengths back in third.
“If he hadn't run in his two maiden hurdles he would have been favourite on his bumper runs but he was disappointing,” commented Elliott, earlier on the mark with Kennedy courtesy of Gigginstown's Eclair De Beaufeu
“I'd say he just couldn't handle the real heavy ground in Cork.
“Jack said he was a different horse today, he jumped and travelled and did everything right.
“I wouldn't say he has to go three miles. I'd say anything between two-and-a-half and three miles is probably what he wants.
“He seemed to like that ground.”
The Stewards fined I.Madden, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Scanimax, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Scanimax in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
