Tom George was thoroughly satisfied with God's Own s Cheltenham Festival prep run at Kempton last week.
Runner-up to Un De Sceaux in the Arkle last year, he was second to Josses Hill in a graduation chase, conceding 7lb to the Nicky Henderson-trained winner.
Racing on ground much softer than he appreciates, God's Own looked a huge threat two furlongs out before getting tired on his first run for over 100 days and over a trip of two and a half miles.
Whether he runs in the Queen Mother or the Ryanair has still to be decided.
"I was delighted with him," said George.
"We needed to get a run into him and given I knew he wouldn't like the ground, I thought he ran very well.
"He took a blow at the second last and he will come on an awful lot for that, it was just what we were hoping for.
"I still don't know which race we'll run him in, though. He's a very quick horse but I'm also sure he'll stay further.
"The ground is likely to be better which would help him stay the Ryanair trip, but in the Arkle last year he was the only horse who could live with Un De Sceaux.
"We don't have to rush into making a decision and I certainly won't be put off by one horse."
