The Arthur Moore trained Positive Vibes was first past the post in the International Hotel Killarney Apprentice Handicap, but the Ronan Whelan ridden gelding lost the race in the Stewards room, with Shalaman being declared the winner.
Shalaman went off the heavily-backed 7/2 favourite (opened at 6/1 on-course) under Leigh Roche for Denis Hogan, and he was coming with what looked to be a winning run inside the final furlong, attempting to go between Positive Vibes (9/2) and Castle Guest
However the gap was closed and he had to be switched to the outside.
The lightly-raced four-year-old kept on strongly from there but it was too late and he went down by a head.
However after a lengthy Stewards Enquiry the result was changed.
