Lancing continued the excellent run of the Tony Martin yard as he landed a gamble in the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap Hurdle. Ridden by Ruby Walsh, the four-year-old son Dansili was 5/1 this morning with Paddy Power, opening on track at 9/2 before being backed into 5/2 clear favouritism at the off. Having his fifth start in handicap company he was waited with in the rear of mid-division before he made headway approaching the straight. He improved to lead at the second last and he went clear on the run to the final flight, staying on well on the run-in to score comfortably by four lengths. Valours Minion took second at 25/1 under Tony Kelly for Val O’Brien, top weight Key Account (8/1) was five and a half lengths back in third under Martin Ferris for Lar Byrne, while Glen Orchy Lad (33/1) completed the placings, three parts of a length back in fourth under trainer/rider John Cullen. Tony Martin said afterwards: "He was unlucky at Sligo the last day on heavy ground (the ground was officially good at Sligo) and he missed the last there. "He deserved to win one of these. Aidan Shiels (who also owns Benefficent) couldn’t be here today due to work commitments, but he has been on the phone to me all morning." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
