Gabynako was the well supported winner (even-money to 4/6f) of the opening Dimond Walsh Hospitality Maiden Hurdle at Naas today as the Gavin Cromwell trained gelding made all to win under stable jockey Jonathan Moore.
The French bred son of Tirwanako carried form figures of '2-322' into today's race having been placed in a point-to-point, bumper and, latterly, two maiden hurdles.
Gabynako's previous run was when beaten a nose at Fairyhouse earlier this month but today went one-placing better when making all to comfortably beat Envious Editor by six and a half lengths.
Afterwards Cromwell stated “it wasn’t the plan to make the running but Johnny (Moore) decided at the start and I left him to it. It worked out grand and he got a freebie in front.
“He’s done it well and we’ll see where we go from here. He’s a nice horse and will stay plenty further.”
