Review GOWRAN PARK 6th Aug
Sean Treacy's Dane Blue (7-2) built on her recent Tipperary second by going one better in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at Gowran Park.
The six-year-old was always travelling kindly for young jockey Ben Curtis, before the pair edged into the lead after turning for home.< Essexford and Silly Dancer came from the rear of the field to give chase in the final furlong, but Dane Blue kept finding more in the closing stages, eventually prevailing by a length and a quarter.< Born To Be King looked very green despite this being his third career outing, but he still had enough to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
Aidan O'Brien's charge travelled beautifully for Johnny Murtagh, and looked completely in control before drifting markedly left in the final furlong, but it did not stop him completing the win, as the 8-15 chance came home a length and a quarter in front of Scandal Sheet < Greannmhar relished the switch into handicap company when romping to victory in the Open Singles Every Thursday Nursery.
Always towards the front rank under Kevin Manning, the Jim Bolger-trained 100-30 favourite swept clear two furlongs out before running on to a two and a half-length win over Barizan < Azaboy stuck on gamely to get the better of Soul Murmur notch his first success in the Most Stylish Racegoer At Gowran Park Maiden.
Soul Murmur set a strong enough gallop and looked to have seen off all his rivals, but Rory Cleary got on terms on board the 8-1 winner with a furlong to run and the pair had too much for heir rival in the closing stages, winning by a length and three quarters.
Muredach Kelly's Kahuna (14-1) led his rivals a merry dance when making all to win the Guinness Sligo Handicap Hurdle by a yawning 12 lengths.
