Settled in mid-division, the son of Excellent Art travelled well behind the leaders with three furlongs to race.
He was pushed along to challenge on the inner from the two furlong pole, and led with over a furlong to race, keeping on strongly from there to score by five and a half lengths.
Paul Deegan was responsible for the second and third, with a neck separating Tasty Ginger (11/1) and Bumper Crop (10/1). No Biggie (5/1) completed the placings a head back in fourth under Ana O'Brien for her father Aidan.
Colm O'Donoghue said afterwards: "They went quite quick for that grade so I gave him a bit of a chance and they came back to me.
"He finished it off well. The ground is in beautiful condition."
