Flynsini an evergreen 13-year-old, won a battle with Dubai Devils in the Gormanlough Handicap Chase at Navan.
The pair moved to the front approaching the final fence where Flynsini held a narrow initiative. He then knuckled down to his task on the run-in to see off Dubai Devils by half a length.
Both the winner and the runner-up, who lost little in defeat, went off at 14/1. Marshalled the 4/1 jolly, didn't land a blow on the pair in third a further eight lengths away.
JJ Slevin said: “He’s a brilliant jumper, as good as you would ride, and Pat (Cloke) has done a wonderful job with him.
“From an early stage he was loving the ground and got into a good rhythm. He was a deserved winner today.
“He’s a very generous horse. His jumping never lets you down and that’s what won it for him today.”
This was Flynsini's first success since landing a handicap chase at Punchestown in November 2017. He has now won four of his 40 races under rules.
