Flood Doubles Up at Naas
Local rider Paddy Flood gave his supporters a big pay-day with a 272/1 double as he followed up his success earlier in the day on Baily View when that great old campaigner, Mutineer displayed a most willing attitude under eleven stone twelve to fend off favourite Cochise in what were desperate conditions in the Thoroughbred County Handicap Chase.
The victorious grey, carrying blinkers and a tongue strap, has been on the go since his two-year-olds days and amazingly ended a losing run going back to January 2004 when he scored at Navan last Februrary. Dessie Hughes' 12/1 chance led home just five finishers as seven of the participants pulled up and Euro Gypsy fell. (EM)
