Fitzgerald back among the winners
Bessie Lou gave Michael Fitzgerald a welcome winner when claiming the opening mares maiden hurdle at Bellewstown this evening.
Barry Geraghty gave the Montjeu mare a confident ride, jumping into the lead at the third last.
He asked his mount to settle matters before the final flight and she went on to score by seven lengths from Chase The Favorite
Gowran handler Fitzgerald last visited the winners' enclosure just over a year ago when Star Wood scored at Downpatrick.
"She might go for a winners of one depending on what the handicapper thinks after that," said Fitzgerald. "She'll stay further. It's good to get a winner."
