First In Command shows them who?s boss
Thurles trainer Mark Loughnane recorded his first Flat winner of 2008 when his First In Command ran out the game winner of the opening Naas Maiden at Naas tonight.
Sent off at 20/1, the son of Captain Rio eventually hit the front close home to deny front running Caherassdotcom by a neck, with heavily backed 4/7 favoutite Great Barrier Reef well beaten in fourth.
Afterwards, Loughnane reported "he missed the break and met inteference when he ran at Chepstow and also met inteference when he ran the last day. We were taking a chance running him in this maiden and, as he likes a bit of an ease in the ground, won?t run again for a few weeks."
