Fire takes hold late on
Fire Lily burst through in the closing stages to make a winning debut in the juvenile fillies maiden at Navan.
Wayne Lordan, completing a quick double, settled his mount on the rail before making his move inside the final furlong.
The Dansili filly came between Danziger and An Ghalanta to hit the lead 50 yards from home and record a length-and-a-quarter success over the later.
"She's a grand filly. Wayne said she ran very green but he was quite impressed with her. There should be plenty of improvement," said trainer David Wachman afterwards.
Lordan had also struck in the previous five-furlong handicap aboard Maarek Cultec Dot Ie was the subject of a gamble on course from 50/1 into 14/1 but never figured.
