The Eoin Doyle trained Fiesole gained a first hurdles success at Down Royal today, landing the Sean Graham Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle under jockey Andrew Ring to bridge a 20 month gap between his previous win.
The son of Montjeu was previously successful in a Brighton flat handicap for Luca Cumani in August 2015 and today scored at his ninth attempt over hurdles.
Afterwards Ring said: “he didn't travel that well for me early as he is used to much slower ground.
"They went very quick and I was glad to get a lead down to the last and he quickened up well."
