Father and son team up at Listowel
The Charleville Cheese Maiden Hurdle was won by the Andrew McNamara trained and owned Glenquin Castle ridden by his son Andrew.
McNamara raced his mount in mid-division and made progress approaching 3 out, led at last and stayed on well to win by 5 ? lengths.
Andrew McNamara trainer said, "The horse won his bumper first time out here but he has had a lot problems since then. He is a chaser in the making, we didn't want to risk him over fences on the fast ground during the Summer but he'll go chasing straight away now. He should make a nice staying chaser."
