Trainer Andy Oliver secured a belated first winner of the new Flat season when his Fashion Forward caused a 33/1 upset to land the Rockathon Returns To Fairyhouse September 5th Handicap on her handicap debut at Fairyhouse today.
Ridden by Bill Lee, the daughter of Manduro raced with the leaders before progressing to lead over a furlong out, for a length and three parts success over Brokopondo
Oliver, who secured three Group 2 wins in 2012, later stated "Billy gave her a great ride and she's still very inexperienced and ran about a bit when she hit the front. She did it well though.
"I'm delighted as we've had a dreadful start to the year. There were just a few issues that we have sorted out.
"You can visually see the horses improving now and they are running better. Hopefully it keeps on going that way."
