Fashion maintains unbeaten record
Lady Fashion made it two from two at Dundalk when claiming the conditions race tonight for Paul Deegan.
The daughter of Oasis Dream had made a winning debut at the track last month and handled the step up in class well.
She travelled well to take it up a furlong-and-a-half out, from leader When Not Iff (6/4f), and kept on gamely when asked for an effort. Peahen looked a threat at the furlong pole but Willie Supple had plenty left on Lady Fashion and she was always holding that rival for a length-and-a-quarter success.
The winner had been popular this morning, backed from 9/1 into 5/1, and was sent off that price on course.
"She's come on from her first run and it was a nice race today - they went a nice gallop," said Deegan.
"She's done it well and the time seems ok. I'm not sure where she'll go but I'm looking at a Listed race at Naas. I'm in no rush with her. She's an improving filly."
Deegan has enjoyed a fine start to the season and looks to have some nice prospects on his hands:-
"I have 36 or 37 but only three four-year-olds. The three-year-olds look good but my two-year-olds have to shape up - I don't think there are any superstars among them."
