Farmer eventually earns his corn
Mister Farmer came home best of the four with a chance going to the last, Niall 'Slippers' Madden getting what was required out of his mount to beat Barcardero by half a length in the Headfort Handicap Chase.
Racing in the Bernard Carroll silks of 2006 Grand National hero, Numbersixvalverde, Mister Farmer was bouncing back from a fall last time, in his first handicap, and that saw him sent off a 16/1 chance for this two and a half miler.
Brassil said: "That is his first win over jumps after fifteen attempts (dating back to the end of August 2006). He won on the flat in France. He fell at the first the last day and the priority here was to get him jumping early and to take it from there."
