Fab four for Murtagh/Lyons
Ashka s win in the Blackrock Maiden at Dundalk tonight provided trainer Ger Lyons and jockey Johnny Murtagh with a four-timer.
The pair had earlier combined to win two earlier races, with Murtagh also riding a winner for trainer David Wachman, while apprentice jockey Emmett McNamara rode Lyons' other earlier winner.
Regarding Ashka, a delighted Lyons mentioned "Ashka has been a model of consistency all year and deserved to win this. Maidens at this time of year tend to be less competitive than handicaps and she was entitled to win this. She'll go back handicapping next."
Lyons was completing his first four-timer.
