Elliott unleashes smart prospect in bumper
I Am Fortunata

I Am Fortunata (3/1) was a very taking winner of the John Thomas McNamara Series INH Flat Race.
Rob James bided his time on the well-related son of Getaway, a 175,000 guineas purchase as a three-year-old, who moved up smoothly to track the 8/13 favourite O’moore Park on the home turn. The Mike Grech-owned newcomer readily went past the market leader early in the straight and coasted clear in the final furlong to account for that rival by a dozen lengths. The winner’s stable companion Curley Finger made late gains to take third place.
Ian 'Busty' Amond, assistant to winning trainer Gordon Elliott, said: "He is a nice horse, he won easy and Rob (James) was delighted with him. He can be a bit keen but he settled great and had the hood on to keep him that way.
"He travelled into it very easy and Rob said he even got there too soon.
"He was impressive looking at him and Gordon will chat with the owners and see what they want to do but he looks like he wouldn't be out of place in a good bumper."
