Eddie has the Power aboard King
King Maker ground it out to pip Oh Johnny at the post in the handicap hurdle at Limerick.
The pair had moved through to dispute going to the second last but a better jump there handed Oh Johnny the advantage.
Eddie Power got a great tune from King Maker on the run-in, however, and drove his mount out to nab the verdict in the dying strides.
"He ran well at Cork the last day but the opposition was a bit strong", said winning trainer John Murphy.
"Eddie gave him a brilliant ride. He let them all at it at the top of the hill. The rider won it.
Options are open for the gelding, who is owned by English bloodstock agent Jeremy Brummitt.
"He could go straight chasing or he could go to England. He could also be sold now," added Murphy.
There was drama early in the contest when 2/1 favourite Ciaras Lady appeared to clip heels and shot Davy Russell out of the saddle. He walked back unharmed.
