Demoted after passing the post in front in race two on Burning Lake there was compensation for Donagh O'Connor in BetVictor Apprentice Handicap as he landed the spoils on Mulzamm (7s into 6s) at Dundalk.

Denis Hogan has care of this victor for James McAuley and O'Connor got him home by a length and a quarter and half a length from Latchet and Voyageofdiscovery

O’Connor reported: “He was a little unlucky the last day although you kind of have to ride him like that and keep him covered up. He was drawn in 13 today and I was finding it hard to keep him covered up when we turned in.

“I hit the front a bit early on him but the horse in front fell away a bit, and he didn’t do a whole pile in front either but he’s a nice horse and his confidence is growing now. He’d a high rating as a younger horse.”
