Seventeen-year-old Luke McAteer, on his first ride after being with Jim Bolger for about a year, landed split two of the Jogforjockeys.ie Apprentice Handicap at Fairyhouse on Pirolo (7/1).
From Rathmullan in County Donegal, McAteer has thirty winners under his belt in the pony racing fields.
Here on the Jackie Bolger-owned and Jim Bolger-trained Pirolo, he got home by a length and a half from Easy Boy Missguided caught the eye in third.
The home-bred Teofilo five-year-old was winning his third race, to add to victories at Navan last year, and this April. He was successfully dropping back from those mile five victories to win this over a mile and a quarter.
R. Coakley, rider of Nicotina (GB) trained by Keith Henry Clarke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.
