A good fifth in the McEnery Cup at Gowran on Wednesday evening, Fiesole stepped up to land the Hibernian Hotel, Tramore Handicap for Eoin Doyle and Ross Coakley.
Law Girl won that Gowran event for Willie Mullins and Colin Keane, and they were expected to triumph in this mile and a half contest too, with even money favourite Bronagh's Belle
As it turned out she had every chance but she couldn't match Fiesole in the final furlong and a length and a half separated them at the line.
"I'm delighted with him now. He ran well in the McEnery Cup the other night. Wayne Lordan rode him there and he just said he wants a bit more of an ease in the ground, and I'd say the ground is after getting a bit softer," said Doyle, registering his second winner at the Tramore 2018 August festival.
"He just winged it around here and picked up well. He'll probably go back over hurdles as he is well-handicapped over them. He was drawn out wide at Galway and you know yourself when you are drawn out wide there you may as well stay at home.
"I said I'd leave him take his chance this evening with the small field. He'll probably head to Listowel now."
