Doyle now flying with Bainne

Like plenty of the better riders it sometimes takes time for a career to ignite and after waiting a while for that all-important breakthrough success, Joe Doyle moved on to the four winner mark courtesy of Bainne s (rode her a winner before too) victory in the Summer BBQ July 12th Handicap at Cork.
Doyle, a nephew of trainer Pat and a son of Jim, was of course a champion pony race rider and here he had Bainne in front after a furlong, and she travelled best at the quarter mile pole.
The Strategic Prince filly then kept on well inside the final furlong to see off Beau Satchel by a length and three parts. Odds-on favourite Peggy's Leg finished a further two and a quarter lengths back in third.
Charlie Swan trains Bainne for Mrs Sheahan and he explained: "She loves to be on the bridle and I said to Joe to get a lead but the way the race worked out that didn't happen.
"She was drawn very wide at the Curragh the last day (11th there). She's in again at Sligo on Tuesday and she'll probably take her chance there.
"We'll see how she is in the morning." (AM & EM)
