- Doyle & Barry on a High with King
Doyle & Barry on a High with King
Eoin Doyle and Shay Barry matched the double scorers Gordon Elliott and Paul Carberry when King High added to the gains of The Fonze half-an-hour earlier by taking race four on the programme at Down Royal, the Down Royal Punters Pack Handicap Hurdle.
This ex-Barry Connell-owned Jonjo O'Neill-trained dual winner, led before two out but he was all out at the finish to contain So Determined by a head.
Doyle commented: "He might run under a mandatory penalty at Gowran on Sunday. He didn't do a stroke when he got to the front, just idling a bit. He won a chase at Tramore last time and he'll go chasing again soon. He'll probably go for a chase in Galway.
"Two of the syndicate (the B A Syndicate) are from Wexford and two of them are from Kilkenny."
