The Alan Fleming trainer, Barry Connell owned Dom Dolo beat his elder rivals to win the Horse & Jockey Hotel Rated Novice Hurdle at Thurles today, scoring under jockey Denis O'Regan.
O'Regan slipped the four year old French bred gelding through on the inside before the home straight and in the end the pair skipped clear for an easy five and a half lengths win over Laverteen
O'Regan later commented "the race fell apart in front of me and I kicked on turning in but he is still a bit backward and weak. Hopefully he can progress.
"He handled the ground ok but he is still only a four year old and could be a nice horse next year."
