Dinons completed his eighth win from his last 12 starts at Limerick today as the Gordon Elliott trained six year old landed the Geary's Garage Ltd Dealers Rated Chase under jockey Davy Russell.
The son of Balko had been beaten on his latest two chase starts but today made all for an easy 11 lengths win over Mind's Eye
Elliott later stated “I was toying about whether to run him in the Munster National as he had a nice weight in it but I was very concerned about the ground, so I was.
“It was a great pot so we couldn't leave it behind us. He might go to Cheltenham in two weeks time; he won there last year so there is every chance he goes there next. He'll get his ground there and will be a nice horse for handicap chases next year.”
