Dicebox (10/3), partnered by Tom Hamilton, got off the mark at the fourth attempt in the 4-year-old bumper.
The son of Teofilo, bred by Godolphin, was prominent throughout and stayed on well under pressure on the far rail to defeat the newcomer Fairy Tree (11/1) by thee and a half lengths.
The winner was placed first time out at Kilbeggan in April and had run creditably in two starts since then.
His dam Scatter Dice was a 66/1 winner of the Cesarewitch for Mark Johnston in 2013.
Winning trainer 'Shark' Hanlon commented: “He’s a lovely little horse, as tough as nails but wants further. I bought him out of Mick Halford’s last year.
“He jumps well at home and will make a lovely hurdler.
“Some of the syndicate are coming home from America in a few weeks and would love to have a runner at Galway. He could go there for the four-year-old hurdle.”
