Derby back with a bang
The Last Derby returned from a 223 day break to triumph in the corkracecourse.ie Hurdle under Barry Geraghty.
John Brennan's son of Anabaa held the challenge of Eagle's Pass from the last by one and three parts of a length.
Winning trainer, Eoin Griffin commented: "He was obviously a bit fitter than I thought. He is heading for the Plate at Galway now. If the ground is good he'll go there with a reasonable chance.
"He is rated 132 and that should see him in with a nice weight. I'd have been happy with a good run here. He pulled a muscle at Newcastle the last time he ran (on the 28th of November 2009) and that saw us missing Punchestown and it made Galway the objective."
