Deire Na Sli stays on best for Bolger
Deire Na Sli from the Jim Bolger yard landed the seven furlong nursery handicap at Leopardstown in good style by three lengths to pick up a 13,000 euro prize in the hands of Kevin Manning.
The filly's sire, Aussie Rules, was a former winner of the French 2000 Guineas and she appeared to relish the soft ground encountered.
Bolger said: "She ran a bit freely with the blinkers on last time so we left them off today and it worked well."
The winner was returned at 8/1 and had drifted at the track from an opening show of 9/2. Madeira Man finished second at 11/2 and front-running Independent Girl faded to third at 20/1. Nucals Star was the 2/1 favourite and finished eighth.
