Go Darsi Go showed the benefit of his hurdle debut at Limerick last month when causing an upset in the opening Ardfinnan Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.
The 16/1 chance jumped past the front-running Sizing Coal at the second last and kept on well in the testing conditions.
Ben Dalton’s mount stayed on nicely on the run-in to beat the well-backed 5/4 favourite by three lengths, the pair drawing a long way clear of Fluspar in third.
Winning trainer Conor O’Dwyer said, “I bought this horse from Davy Fitzgerald. He was only beaten a few lengths in his point-to-point and had a pleasing run at Limerick.
“We decided to make more use of him today. He needs to develop another bit and we’ll put him away now. There’s another hurdle or two to be won with him next season.”
