Cullen doubles-up at Clonmel
Johnny Cullen completed a double on Gaelic Grounds in the Glenary Handicap Steeplechase at Clonmel, the Wexford rider adding to his earlier gains aboard One For Joules in the opener.
Cullen completed the 116/1 brace in the same fashion as he won on One For Joules, making his challenge up the inside in the straight. The hitherto frustrating Gaelic Grounds stayed on well on the run-in to account for Silence Speaks by a length and a half.
Winning trainer, Pat Fahy, fresh from his success with Ballybacka Lady at Dundalk on Friday night, said: "The boys that own her are also into Ballybacka Lady so they've had a good few days. He was a very good point-to-pointer but he didn't stay right last year, whatever was ailing him.
"That was his first run back of the season and he'll probably go for another handicap now. He is still a novice too."
