Corviglia (15/2 into 9/2 on the show) took a big step forward from her debut sixth at Listowel to land the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies 2-y-o Maiden.
Shane Foley ’s mount, a daughter of Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Karakontie, was in the front rank throughout from stall one and picked up well in the straight to beat Limiti Di Greccio (10/1) by a length and three quarters. Maeve Of Connaught (14/1) took third spot while the 13/8 favourite Heart To Heart turned for home with every chance but weakened to finish sixth.
Kate Harrington, assistant to her mother Jessica, said: “We're delighted with her. We were a little bit disappointed in Listowel but she didn't handle the soft ground and she's come on a ton from it.
“She's a nice progressive filly. She's in the Ballyhane (at Naas on August 2nd) race and that could be the next option for her.”
