Coopers claim opener with Coole
Coole Avenue claimed the opener at Listowel for the Coopers as the father and son team of Tom and Bryan teamed up in the Croom House Stud Maiden Hurdle.
Bryan always had the Snurge gelding to the fore and he kicked on before the last to record a three-and-a-half length victory over Don't Think Twice
"He likes good ground. He was placed a few times in bumpers. He'll be a grand horse over fences in time," said Cooper senior.
It was the sixth winner of the season for Cooper junior and his eleventh winner in all.
Davy Russell suffered a heavy fall from 7/4f Napa Starr in the race and was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured ankle.
