Affable got there near the line to take the Property Partners Earley Auctioneers Fillies Handicap at Roscommon for Ken Condon and Joey Sheridan.
Switched out to come with her effort inside the final quarter mile, Affable was soon in pursuit of Ola Bonita who gave it a right good go from the front.
The market certainly hadn’t foreseen this outcome as Affable (11/1) eventually triumphed by half a length from Ola Bonita (25/1).
“Ken said to me to sit halfway and to get her coming there rather than being there,” said Sheridan.
“That's what I did, we went hard, and thankfully it worked out. I'm very grateful to Mr Condon for the opportunity.”
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Zumoradda trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
