Concerto may reappear at Navan next Saturday
Noel Meade's top-class inmate Aran Concerto could return from a slight setback at Navan next weekend.
The eight-year-old won three of his five starts over hurdles, including two Grade One races, but then spent some 20 months on the sidelines with injury.
The son of Zaffaran appeared to be as good as ever, though, when making a winning start to his career over fences at Navan in November.
Meade is hoping to get one more run into him back at the County Meath venue before a possible tilt at the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse.
'If the ground is all right, and things are going okay, then Aran will probably run in a two-mile winners' race at Navan,' said Meade.
'We'll see how we go with him after then but hopefully he might be able to run in the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse.'
