Club completes good day for the Mullins'
The Midnight Club made it third time lucky over fences to complete a double for his rider, Emmet Mullins and a treble for trainer Willie Mullins, making all to land the Kilsheelan Beginners Chase by a convincing eleven lengths at Clonmel.
Owned by the Cistercian College Roscrea Racing Syndicate, the chestnut appeared to be in full control when the chasing Diophas and Afterburn fell two out. Indeed that fence also claimed Cloverhill Lad and Roisini Bay
A former winning point-to-pointer for Gerry Cully, The Midnight Club was joining Some Target and Quiscover Fontaine as Mullins winners on the day. He of course was third behind Weapons Amnesty in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at last year's Cheltenham Festival. He has options there this year, including in the four-miler.
