Redshore City just edged the verdict in a cracking finish to the finale at the Curragh this afternoon.
The Gutaifan gelding was making his third outing for Natalia Lupini having had a couple of spins at Dundalk last month.
Wayne Lordan held his mount up in the early stages of the six-furlong contest before coming with a strong charge inside the final furlong.
The 9/1 shot grabbed Un Bacio Ancora close home and was almost joined by Pinar Del Rio at the line as he secured a short-head success.
Lordan said afterwards:- “He had two nice runs in Dundalk, but I rode him the last day over a mile and I just felt the surface was a little on the quick side for him.
“They said they would wait until the grass started and here we are.
“He was just beaten over five-and-a-half in Sligo last year, so we thought he’d get away with six and he just did.
“He handles that ground and he can go seven as well.”
