Chrysanthemum brings up double for Wachman
Chrysanthemum landed the Group 3 Weld Park Stakes for David Wachman and in so doing earned a 25/1 quote for the 1000 Guineas from Ladbrokes.
Wachman's two-year-old filly scooped the valuable pot by a head from 11/4 favourite Wild Wind Bible Belt was a further head back in third.
Chrysanthemum had won a listed race over a mile at the Curragh two weeks previously and took the step up in class in her stride with a powerful finish under Wayne Lordan, to no doubt delight her trainer who is away at the sales.
David Wachman speaking by phone said: "She is still a raw and green filly. She has confirmed the promise of her debut win and is one to look forward to for next year."
