Powersville continued her progression when opening her account in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden at Navan this afternoon.
Tom Mullins' charge had stepped forward on each of her previous three starts and was a close third at the Curragh on her most recent outing.
Niall McCullagh tracked the leaders on the Frozen Power filly in today's five furlong contest before launching his challenge inside the final furlong.
The 4/1 shot hit the lead the front inside the final 100 yards to record a length-and-a-quarter success over Stewardess
Well-backed 5/2 favourite Sunday Smart (9/2 in morning) was withdrawn at the start leading to a 25 cent rule 4 on all bets.
“She has learned as she went along in her races. I’ll try to get some black type with her and could look at the Blenheim Stakes. She only cost 2,500 so she owes us nothing now, “ said Mullins.
