Ceol on song as Ruby doubles up
Ruby Walsh moved on to the 33 winner mark for the season, 27 winners behind Jockeys’ Championshop leader Davy Russell, when partnering the second leg of a double on the Willie Mullins trained Ceol Rua in the Christmas Party At Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle today.
The daughter of Bob Back moved to the front after two out and eventually coasted home an easy winner.
Afterwards Mullins stated “Ceol Rua jumped a lot better today than her previous run and is improving, although she is still very careful. She’ll move up in grade gradually and I’d like to find a mares’ race for her, otherwise we’ll find a winners’ of one.”
