Carronhills Earns Cheltenham Quote
Never far off the gallop, Carronhills put in a big leap to get to the front four out, got the second last wrong, but Nina Carberry's mount was still full of running and strode clear to take the Arctic Tack Stud Hunters Chase by an easy twenty lengths from fellow 11/4 joint favourite, Freneys Well
Twice a point-to-point winner, John Costello trains this son of Old Vic, who competes in the well-known silks of John McCarthy.
The Co. Clare trainer said: "He couldn't win a point-to-point last year as he was immature. He has come on a lot but I was very surprised that he won like that, I thought Enda Bolger's horse would beat him. We'll find a winners hunter chase for him now."
Cashmans go 10/1 Carronhills for the Foxhunters at Cheltenham. (EM)
