- Brady delighted after Shabra success
Brady delighted after Shabra success
Punters flocked to the winners enclosure to enjoy the Oliver Brady show after Imperial Shabra ran out a convincing winner of the maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan.
The six-year-old forged clear before the second last, under Matthew Bowes, having hit the front three from home.
He kept up a strong gallop to post an eight-length verdict over long-time leader Blue Turk
Brady was warmly greeted after the win as he addressed the crowd in his own unique manner.
"The race went absolutely to plan," said Brady later in the evening.
"Christian Williams told me he gets two-and-a-half miles so I told Matt 'don't let them get on top of you and grind them into submission from the front'.
"We'll look at a novice hurdle in Listowel for him now."
