Bobby causes shock under Brian
Brian O'Connell got a great tune out of Bobby John in the closing stages to land the CIT SU Handicap Hurdle at Cork.
Favourite backers looked set to collect when Ruby Walsh hit the front after the second last on Molko Jack (7/2).
He couldn't hold the late charge of 20/1 shot Bobby John, however, who flew home on the run-in to get up in the closing stages for a length-and-a-quarter success.
The Francis Flood-trained son of Bob Back hadn't shown a lot on four starts on softer ground and this was reflected in his starting price.
"You couldn't say he had a chance after he ran so badly at Thurles last time but the ground was awful cut up then," said Fran Flood junior.
"We always thought he would be better on better ground and the ground probably made all the difference. I just hope he's not a one hit wonder!"
