Berry seen to good effect
The Platinum Stakes Listed Race provided us with a thrilling finish with Eddie Lynam's Duff just holding off the fast finishing Kevin Prendergast's Mr Medici by a short head.
Fran Berry who was aboard Duff shot clear of the rest from 2f out and managed to keep his head in front on the line. The Judge couldn't part Charlie Swan's Jalmira and Jim Bolger's Prima Luce so made it a dead heat for 3rd.
Lynam said afterwards, 'Thats not good for the heart I thought he was going to win by 2 lengths. Fran gave him a super ride, this horse is a real warrior he has had so many setbacks with a lot of freaky problems. I'd like to go back for the 7f race in York that he won last year.'
