Bennys Wins for Wexford & Kilkenny
It is not often that Kilkenny and Wexford combine successfully on the sporting fields but such was the case when Bennys Quest showed a good deal of determination to shed his maiden tag in the Cahir Motor Company Hyundai Handicap Hurdle under Tom Doyle.
On his twelfth start, the Beneficial six-year-old led from two out and held off the challenge of Joys Island on the run in to prevail by three parts of a length.
Wexford trainer, Colm Murphy said of the Co. Kilkenny owned and ridden winner: "We'll keep him going for the summer, he deserved it. It's a first winner for the syndicate (Batteriesnotincluded Syndicate) and they are from Inistioge and they are mates of Tom (Doyle) who is from the same place."
