Barna strikes for O'Brien
Barna Bay proved too strong for his rivals in the Eventus Novice Chase to give local trainer Val O'Brien a winner at Galway.
John Cullen sent his mount on after the second last and he stayed on well to go clear down the straight for a 12-length win over Steve Capall
"He done it well. I was suprised he won so easily in the finish. Anything from two-and-a-half to three miles suits him," said O'Brien.
"Andrew (McNamara) blamed himself at Killarney last time. He was very keen and he took him back into the pack but he just didn't fire after that.
"We'll look at something at Listowel and keep him to winners races for a while."
