The Stewards enquired into start of this race where Ballyhaunis ridden by Fran Berry baulked and lost considerable ground.

Evidence was heard from Fran Berry rider who stated that his mount had baulked at the first attempt to start this race which resulted in the starter calling a false start. He added that his mount repeated this behaviour at the second time of asking and he was satisfied that the Starter had given his mount a fair chance to start but the horse had shown a temperament problem.

Evidence was also heard from Mr. P. Lafarge, Starter who confirmed that he had given Ballyhaunis a fair chance at two attempts to start this race.

Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected and took no further action.
